호텔 더 디자이너스 강남 프리미어의 옥상 정원은 대지의 단차와 인접 지역들 간 지역 지구의 차이가 만든 도심 속 열린 조망이라는 큰 장점을 가지지만, 기존의 옥상정원에는 불투시형 난간이 시공되어 이러한 조망의 이점을 차단시키고 있었다. 또한, 건축주의 요청사항은 옥상정원에 피트니스와 카페 등 서로 상이한 기능이 계획되는 것이었다.

Rooftop Lounge of the Hotel the Designers benefits from the difference in level allowing open field of view. However, fences built out of opaque materials limited the field of view. Request of the structure owner was to have spaces serving multiple activities such as fitness and café.

시각적으로 열린 공간을 극대화하면서, 동시에 각 기능 간 고유한 영역성 확보하는 방법으로 공간의 중앙부를 '들어 올린' Rooftop Lounge를 조성하였다. 공간의 레벨과 재료, 연장과 분리를 효율적으로 계획하여 기능성과 디자인적인 완결성을 높였다.

To maximize advantage of open space while keeping each section to secure its purpose, the center platform is raised to establish Aerial Rooftop Lounge. Extension and separation of materials and change of level difference has been deliberately planned to further develop functionality and completion of design.
