Pure Crystal은 서울 종로에 위치한 부띠크호텔인 호텔 더 디자이너스의 특별한 하나의 객실로 디자인 되었다. 서울의 유서 깊은 도심 종로에 위치한 호텔의 Pure Crystal은 단위면적당 이윤을 극대화 해야 하는 숙박업소라는 필요조건과 "전통과 현대가 공존하는 세계에서 가장 다이나믹한 도시 서울을 경험하고자 하는 여행자의 기대"라는 충분조건을 디자인 적인 방법으로 성공적으로 충족시켰다. 건물 사이의 간격이 좁아 창문을 낼 수 없는 이 지역 건물의 구조적 약점을 빛이 녹아있는 공간과 오브제의 형상 크리스탈을 모티브로 한 디자인의 창의성으로cozy하고 세련된 공간으로 변화시켰다.
Pure Crystal is a special room of Boutique Hotel the Designers in Jongno, Seoul. Pure Crystal in a hotel located at the Seoul's historic downtown area, Jongno, successfully satisfied in a way of design both the necessary condition to maximize the profit per unit area as an accommodation and the sufficient condition to meet the traveler's expectation to experience Seoul, the most dynamic city in the world where traditional and modern things are coexisting. It changed the structural weak point of the building in this area, for which no windows could be installed due to narrow gap between buildings, into an amazingly cozy and polished space through the creativity of design by a motive with a space where light is dissolved and a crystal in an object's shape.
Pure Crystal의 Concept은 영롱한 크리스탈의 빛과 정교한 형상을 담은 공간이다. 백색과 핑크빛 공간의 대비는 크리스탈이 가진 순수성과 화려함을 동시에 구현한다. 31㎡의 객실이지만 내부 공간을 구성하는 연속된 가구는 공간의 유연성을 극대화 한다. 공간에 투영된 연속적인 가구와 빛이 스민 벽은 경계를 희미하게 하고 공간을 확장하여 투숙객에게 특별한 경험을 선사한다.
L자형 평면에 침대, 소파, 테이블 욕조, 욕실, 화장실이 연속적으로 계획되었다. 핑크빛으로 디자인된 욕조는 침실, 테이블이 있는 공간과 욕조가 교차되는 지점에 배치되어 두 공간을 연결하는 동시에 전체 공간을 규정하는 오브제의 기능을 한다. 바닥의 패턴과 가구의 선형 그리고 천장의 루버는 하나의 디자인 언어로 융합되어 공간적 감성을 극대화한다.
Pure Crystal is a room filled with sparkling glow and delicate texture of crystal. The contrast of space by white and pink colors reveals both purity and magnificentness. Continued smooth surface and edge of furnishings and walls amplifies the “flexibility” of the 31㎡ space. Projections of furnishings on walls imbued with light make boundary vague and expand the dimension to grant a unique experience to the guests.
On an L-shaped surface, multiple furnishings including bed, sofa, table, and bathroom fixtures are arranged as a single set of body. The pink-colored bath tub is located between bedroom and bathroom to perform as an objet which connects the two places, but also determines each space at the same time. Patterns of the floor, contours of furnishings, and louvers of the ceiling are combined together to maximize sensitivity of the space.
